Ms. Cynthia Xu is an Ernst&Young assurance senior manager with more than 10 years of audit experience working with private and public companies, including successful initial public offerings. In the last 5 years, Cynthia’s focus has been primarily on high-growth biotechnology clients at various stages of development. Prior to Ernst&Young, Cynthia spent 6 years as an Inspections Report Analyst with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). Prior to that, Cynthia worked at Goldman Sachs Hong Kong and the Ernst&Young Beijing office.
Cynthia earned an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business with concentrations in Finance and Health Sector Management. She is a licensed CPA in Virginia USA and a member of the AICPA. She also holds a CICPA license, which is the CPA equivalent in China.
Cynthia is the President of the Association of Chinese American Accountants in the Great Washington area, which is a member of UCAPO (Union of Chinese American Professional Organizations) where Cynthia also serves as a Vice-Chairman of the Board.
Cynthia was born and raised in Nanjing, China, the capital of China’s eastern Jiangsu province. She moved to Beijing at 18 for college and graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University with BA in International Business. Cynthia served as the captain of the varsity women’s volleyball team in college and enjoys jogging, weight training, and traveling.
