National China Garden Campaign

What began as a joint vision between the Chinese and American governments is soon to be realized thanks to China’s gift of the construction of the garden and support from several Chinese and U.S. companies for the design and planning of the garden. The National China Garden Foundation has been established to raise the funds to plan and sustain the garden site for the public’s enjoyment for years ahead. The Foundation is conducting an endowment campaign with the goal of raising $30 million for the achievement of the garden mission – to continually serve as an expression of friendship between the United States and China and a celebration of the cultural histories and traditions of both nations.

The endowment will ensure the future and continued operation of the National China Garden complex and provide for year-round public and donor access to the venue. A rich array of cultural programs is envisioned for future generations, all supported by the private resources raised through this campaign.

The National China Garden Foundation has worked with the USDA and USNA to develop a special recognition program for all individuals, corporations, foundations and partners who make a contribution to the China Garden project. The USDA will accept the gift of the garden once the endowment is funded and in place.

All donors to the National China Garden at the U.S. National Arboretum will be recognized with a specific set of benefits based on the level of their gifts. Specially designed, freestanding recognition walls will be constructed and placed in prominent entry locations to honor significant contributions to the campaign for a period of 10 years. Donors will also be featured in interactive, multi-media displays located within the garden complex as well as listed in all printed and electronic materials produced by the Foundation. This will be in addition to acknowledgment on the website of the National Arboretum and National China Garden social media platforms.

The Foundation appreciates and accepts gifts of any size. For more information about opportunities to support the National China Garden Campaign, please contact info@usncgf.org
